The dragonfly door is a story exploring the concept of death and grief. The Dragonfly Door tells about loss and change, written purposely to aid parents and adults in expressing their views about life and death. It aids children to understand beauty and hope in life trajectory. The story revolves around two insects named Lea and Nym. Nym and her friend Lea are young dragonflies or nymphs. Lea is older than Nym, and thereby, she has a shorter dragonfly life cycle. Nym and Lea parted ways one day when Nym yelled at Lea. The two had a conflict where Nym felt angry and began to yell at lea. Lea was unwilling to engage in such a fight. Thus, Lea went to find some flowers as she tries to get some comfort after conflict. Lea’s disappearance made Nym undergo struggles while trying to cope with life. Nym began a frantic search for Lea everywhere. She did not find her. After such a challenging search for a missing friend, Nym fell asleep while being overwhelmed by grief. She heard her missing friend’s voice saying ‘'I died and went to this special place‘' during her sleep (Adams & Gibson, 2007).
