This research was done by Herng-Ching Lin. The research was quantitative since it was done throughout the world. Lin mentions that the research also utilized qualitative design by revisiting other statistics done by other researchers. The research entailed investigating the relations ship between traumatic brain injuries and consequent stroke. 1 Scientists from Melbourne's Howard Florey Institute have found special proteins that protect the brain after it has been damaged by a lack of oxygen, which occurs in conditions such as stroke, perinatal asphyxia, and near-drowning and traumatic brain injury.
This research was conducted by Dr. Jones and her team. The study is mainly qualitative since it entails a specific study on particular protein that repairs damage in the brain after injury. According to the Doctor, HIF1 and PHD2 proteins responsible for red blood cells reproduction and blood vessel replication are useful to the human body during oxygen deprivation. She and her team think that developing a drug that introduces these drugs to the brain during traumatic injuries would prevent strokes.
