Healthcare is a complex system that provides care and services to millions of people. It is constantly evolving to address new challenges and improve the quality of care provided to patients. One of the most significant ways healthcare systems have improved is through continuous quality improvement (CQI). CQI is a process by which healthcare organizations identify areas of improvement and develop plans to achieve those improvements (O'Donnell et al., 2021). In healthcare, it is crucial to implement CQI processes to improve the quality of patient care in your unit, the experience for patients and staff, and reduce costs.
My focus would be on improving the diagnosis and treatment of hypertension to improve the quality of Medicare to the patients. Hypertension or high blood pressure is a key risk factor for cardiovascular disease, and its control is largely not met in public health as most patients are not properly identified (Parati et al., 2021).
