Purpose

The purpose of the Collaboration Café is to prepare the psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP) to be successful on the national certification exam through the evaluation of the PMHNP Prediagnostic assessment exam results.

Course Outcomes

For instance, although I recorded a 100% score in the group and psychotherapy domain, other areas were significantly below my expectations. As a result, additional studies in substance use disorder and nervous system and brain anatomy domains, which had the lowers score of 50%, would be important to improve my preparedness and competency.
Study Strategies for Improving My Understanding of the Two Domains
Although many learning approaches can assist me in improving proficiency in substance use disorder and nervous system and brain anatomy domains, integrating the Q methodology represents one of the unique ways of refining my understanding. Judge et al. (2018) indicate that Q enables learners to investigate their subjective viewpoints and attitudes on diverse topics to understand concepts better. The author reveals that such an approach is ideal for topics about substance abuse because it enables one to eliminate generalities and prioritize evidence-based approaches to analyzing and concluding issues.
Peer-based learning techniques can also improve my understanding of the two domains. According to Presti (2019), this method represents a scenario where one learner gains deeper mastery of concepts while evaluating their peers. Embracing this option can assist me in improving my awareness of the two domains through my colleagues’ lens. It would also improve my engagement in classroom activities and sharpen my critical thinking skills while responding to peers.
Solving crossword puzzles offers another demanding and enjoyable tactic for understanding complex concepts in substance use disorder and nervous system and brain anatomy domains. Ghasemi et al. (2020) disclose that this approach makes learning intensive, increases critical thinking, and improves the quality of interaction with study materials.
