 Breast cancer is prevalent cancer diagnosed in females. Breast cancer may strike both men and women, although it affects women significantly more frequently. Breast cancer occurrence rates are substantially greater in African-American women than in Caucasian women, particularly among women under 60. According to the CDCP (2021), African-American women mostly die from breast cancer. Several factors contribute to this disparity in incidence and survivorship. However, the significant area of interest is in factors that influence survivorship and add to higher death rates to African-American patients with cancer. One of the factors is anxiety, distress, and depression associated with cancer diagnosis and treatment.
