Introduction
In contemporary society, healthcare is a critical aspect of the community's health status. In the past few years, governments have been making efforts towards integrating the healthcare systems to decrease fragmentation that occurred over the years. Through the use of the Integrated Delivery Systems (IDSs), the improved quality of care, delivery, and healthcare outcomes have been realized. A few individuals have realized the benefits of IDS, which have significantly improved patient care and efficiency, translating to a healthier community.
Improved Efficiency
The IDS application has enabled medical institutions to reduce the resulting errors in patient care, documentation, and medical procedures to be administered. Because of uncoordinated systems, the institutions fail to become meticulous in their operations, considering that their number increased daily. Besides, the staff fails to fully account for the system's errors due to a fragmented system. IDS has allowed these institutions to have clear records of patient and staff data with much ease resulting in efficient information on both sides. Also, the improved efficiency in medical institutions has been contributed by the stakeholders' collaborations (Enthoven, 2009). For instance, its definition affirms that IDS collaborates across three domains that can be held accountable when needed.
