Strengthening the Curriculum

Geometry is one of the mathematics concepts that seems to be taught in isolation. In particular, it involves drawing lines, angles, and measurements. When teaching this concept, I emphasize accuracy to ensure that students can understand the importance of correctness when drawing different shapes, sizes, distances, and the position of figures. A geometrician must be accurate in her or his work since these are the individuals who take careers, such as civil or mechanical engineers and surveyors.

Specific tasks, concepts, and activities can be used to increase the meaning and context of geometry. The most significant thing about geometry is that it enables learners to think critically, understand measurements, and obtain problem-solving skills (Aydogdu & Kesan, 2014). For example, to improve the meaning of this concept, students can be taken to fieldwork and see how different geometrical skills are used in real life, particularly when constructing structures, such as houses and bridges.

Based on the lecture, mathematical modeling refers to the activity that addresses real-life problems using mathematical structures to gather and analyze the situation at hand. For instance, mathematical modeling can be used to increase the meaning and context of geometry. Students can be taken for fieldwork to see how engineers come up with the measurement for bridges and how they implement the blueprint to develop the actual structure.

However, teaching geometry in a different way can be challenging. First, time must be created for these fieldworks. Second, students should be taught about the application of geometry in real life, which is not straightforward since tools are needed. Third, scholarly organizations should create good relationships with other companies where students can visit and see how

concepts they learn in class are applied in real life. Overall, challenges are inevitable, but they should not be the reason learners fail to obtain relevant geometrical skills.

Visualization of the Mathematical Abstraction
When thinking of technical concepts, it is hard to familiarize yourself with the formulas and numbers that will create such objects. However, I can visually imagine these objects, which can be translated into tangible objects with software. When creating an NFT, I had to visualize an abstract idea that I had in mind, and because I did not have knowledge of coding, I had to use the available online technology to make a simple object.
Thus, I agree that technology has made it possible to visualize abstractions. The process of mathematical abstraction is one of the fundamental steps in mathematical reasoning. In addition, visualization is an effective method for exploring mathematical issues, as it provides meaning to mathematical ideas and their links (Yilmaz et al., 2017). People can now expand their app...
