After reviewing the readings and the MIT grid on value added from education in the MIT Teaching and Learning Lab article, share a graphic depiction of the value you expect to be added from your doctoral or specialist studies. You could use a typology plus narrative, the chart from MIT or grid, as you used earlier, or develop your own graphic image.

A higher education degree is important as it imparts two key values; responsibility and self-discipline. A higher education degree cultivates responsibility more than any other level of education. In a higher education degree, the success you pursue is on your accord. Supervisors and professors give assistance and guidance, but the value of success must come from within yourself. Working on projects and theses requires a level of self-discipline and responsibility, otherwise not expected in other levels of education. Self-discipline is self-correction or self-regulation that a person undertakes to do for them to improve. In this case, any act of regulating yourself to achieve better academically is self-discipline. Responsibility connotes an ability to discern what is right and wrong and do what is necessary. Responsibility and self-discipline work together as they both require you to regulate your behavior.
An example is with a high school level education. Teachers in high school are molding young minds to become the future of society. As a result, high school teachers will be strict and in tune with the students to ensure that they get as much education and acquire values along the way.
