Prosody:  I LEARNED THAT when I was in an ASL linguistic class at the University. I took Discourse Analysis and discussed non-manual markers, cues, and intonation. It helps me understand how the person uses ASL and writes the data transcription.

shifts head: turn, nod, tilt, shake
brows: up/down, neutral
eyelid: open, squint, closed
 gaze: up/down, left/right
 nose: crinkle
cheeks: puff, suck
 lips: round, flat, other
 lip corners: up/down, stretched
 tongue: out, touch teeth, in cheek, flap, wiggle
 teeth: touch lip/tongue, clench

Pidgins and Creole: My daughter's immediate family on her father's side was raised in Louisiana, called Cane Rivers. Since her family is mixed French Creole and Native American, I was unaware of the Creole language. By the way, her father's second cousin Don Prudhomme was retired by The Snake Drag Racing.
