The SAT or Standardized Admission Test has been used in order to get a general scoring of different essential subjects which translate to a general idea of how “studious and capable” a student is. These tests are effective in interpreting the skill and knowledge of students regarding math, reading and writing. For me, I think these test are indeed useful, especially in screening large numbers of students, and categorizing them into basic clusters where their proficiency is most high.
These tests were basically designed to know whether students know how to answer common questions regarding general knowledge and education. However, these test are not apt for other students, such as those who cannot speak verbal language, because they have a different kind of education, and a different mode of understanding the world around them.
