Criminal justice has been a debate that every developed country is fighting for in order to achieve justice to everyone. Different countries have come up with institutions where government is directed at upholding social control and mitigating crime. On the other hand, government also has control over those who violate laws where they implement the law and penalties to them. Those who are accused of crime have their own protection rights against abuse of investigatory and persecution power where criminal justice avail its meaning (Mears, 2010).
The question on whether criminal justice policies should be valued free has become concerned, and nations like Europe have come up with treaties which show their values. In this treaty, they provide the value of respect for human dignity, democracy freedom, equality, the rule of law as well respect for human rights.
