1) Identify and analyze two multicultural lesson plans, one from each of the following types: SIOP, and EEI, which are available at the following addresses:

2) Address the following for each lesson plan.
a) Are the objectives aligned with academic standards? State how the lesson objectives support the academic standards.
b) Are the assessments aligned with the objectives? Is it explicitly clear what the students should know and be able to do by the end of the lesson? What is the evidence demonstrating mastery of knowledge and/or skills which will support the lesson objectives?
c) Are the learning experiences relevant to the objectives?
d) Is instruction differentiated? How will ELL or Special Needs' students benefit from these lessons? Name the activities which support learning modalities, gender or cultural groups.
e) Are there frequent and multiple ways to check for understanding during instruction? List the strategies to check for understanding. Include other strategies not in the lessons which could be utilized to further check for student understanding.
3) Create a brochure with two sections delineating the advantages of SIOP and EEI lesson plan formats. This brochure should be written to persuade a fellow student. Be creative.

The objectives are aligned with the academic standards. The objectives help to give more information on the standards by helping the learner to expound. The assessment is aligned to the objectives; there is evidence for mastery of content by use of the index cards in assessment.
