Child labor is one of the issues affecting many children across the board. This issue affects children educational aspirations, and instead it has negatively affected their life. This is because; many children are denied educational opportunities, as they dedicate their time and effort to working. In most contexts, child labor affects the educational aspirations of the children, as labor substitutes take a substantial fraction of time, which would have been spent on education. Importance of the issue of Child Abuse The issue of child abuse, especially child labor, is a crucial issue, because it affects the quality of life of the children. In this case, children are subjected to working in places with, poor working, conditions. A number of children are subjected to working on sweatshops and in environments, which risks their health and well-being. In this case, this is a serious issue to address, because it does not only affect the quality of life of the children, but bars the children from undertaking principal areas of development in life. For instance, most of the children subjected to child labor, often end up dropping out of school. In addition, these children also face various kinds of abuses as they work. This happens because they are a vulnerable group for abuse, for they cannot effectively defend their rights. The risk factors for children and families, whose children have been subjected to child labor is diverse. The first one is that these children are denied the opportunity for schooling and education. This bars them from growing up well into useful beings in the society. In addition, families, whose children are subjected to child labor increase the likelihood of the poverty viscous, cycle (Murphy & Bailey, 2011). The community and cultural resources that address the issue include setting up community laws, which bars parents from utilizing their kids as economic tools, for making returns for the family. The other resource is education. This involves educating the members of the community on child rights, and the need to offer these rights to the children. Finally, the religion will also play a crucial role in fighting against child abuse. This is because, of the teachings of sanctity of human life and existence. Events for strengthening the Family Concerning Child Abuse Publicity Event This event involves the need for the public and families to be informed about the child labor, and its consequence. This is the first event, because, but for an awareness program, which would increase knowledge of people on the negative impacts of child labor, then it may be difficult to deal with it. Effective fight against child labor begins at the family level. In this case, families, which understand the impacts of allowing their children, engage in child labor practices often shun from this practice. This event will involve putting up media promotions targeted on families. In this case, such programs on radio and television will help the parents of children understand why they should not allow their children to engage in child labor. This event will also emphasize on the need for schooling. In this case, increased schooling reduces the rates of child involvement in child labor (Paludi & Barickman, 1998).
