Discussion 4 Student’s Name Institution Discussion 4 The idea that certain learning styles are related to certain ethnic groups is both dangerous and promising. While the idea can help educators be more effective and sensitive to students of different ethnic backgrounds, there are associated dangers that can limit its applicability. The idea is promising in the sense that it can help attain equity pedagogy where children and youth from all linguistic, racial, socioeconomic, and cultural backgrounds have fair and equal learning opportunities. As informed by Bennett (2007), “African American students, and possibly Latinos, gain outstandingly from cooperative learning” (307).
