The American Sign Language Proficiency Assessment (ASL-PA) is a screening evaluation rather than a thorough linguistic analysis instrument. It focuses on various language constructions. Yes, data was gathered from four deaf children with deaf parents in three different settings: interviews, peer interactions, and retelling stories. They were 6, 8, 10, and 12 years old. All of the 23 "target features" were supposed to be used. It was also found that one of the four kids used at least one of the 23 target features in one of the three discourse settings.
