Visual elements such as lines, space, and tone are vital in enhancing the intended message in films. From a film's point of view, the tone can be defined as the atmosphere or mood of a scene or the film. Concerning visual arts, the tone is defined as the lightness or darkness of a color. Therefore, the tone can also be defined as a contrast. The purpose of tone from this aspect is to reveal or conceal through the control of light and exposure. An increase, in contrast, increases the visual intensity and dynamic tension of the scene or film. The film Brick (2005) is a sad story where a high school student follows a trail of clues to investigate the death of his ex-girlfriend.
