After watching the two videos, it is now evident that the efforts of Indonesia to clean up the Citarum River have received a boost in recent months. Situated 70 kilometers east of Jakarta, it is regarded as one of the most polluted rivers in the world. For this purpose, the Asian Development Bank has already approved $500 million in the loan. It has also been reported that the Citarum River Basin Territory is supporting nearly 24 million people every year, provides 75 percent of the surface water supply to the locals, and is delivering nearly 25 percent of domestic products of Indonesia. Thus, it is essential to get the river cleaned as soon as possible (2008).
