In the past two centuries, the United States saw a big growth in its urban population. As the country has progressed and become more successful, the urban population has continued to rise as well.
In the 19th century, the United States saw a big growth in its urban population. As of 1800, the country’s urban population stood at a meagre 300,000 people. However, by the start of the 20th century, the country’s urban population grew to 30 million people. This number represented 40% of the U.S. population at the time (Levy, 2017).
