Having a baby is the dream of most women. A woman always feels to have taken her place in the society when she has children. God is the giver of life and thus getting children is all to the mercies of God.
Recently, I interacted with a woman who had been diagnosed of Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS). PCOS is a disorder of uncertain etiology. PCOS is one of the leading disorders leading to female sub fertility and a great cause of frequent endocrine problems in women of reproductive age. The patient was so much traumatized that she almost saw this as an end to herself. Why was the patient so much worried? Was she worried that she had PCOS or was she worried because she might never get pregnant? I kept asking myself these questions. The interaction with this patient gave me an opportunity to have a personal reflection. I believe God created me with a purpose, but what actually is my purpose in this life? Maybe the patient believed it is her purpose in this life to bring up children.
