Integrating licensed care providers have a significant impact to the healthcare industry. Multispecialty practitioners play a critical role in the industry and adding their numbers will likely add more benefits to the industry. This impact will create a ripple through the cost structure, physician productivity, compensation, and revolutionize how people access medical services.
Some of the advantages of this move would be lowering the cost of primary care. Adding the number of multispecialty physicians will lower the cost of their services since the new entrants will be compensated with lower rates. NPs and PAs are compensated at lower cost due to their level of training and expertise. Their training program is not as intensive as the primary care physicians and specialty professionals who charge higher fees for their services. Smaller hospitals will be able to afford their services and enable deeper penetration of medical services in the community. This increases the number of medical facilities available for a particular community or a group pf people. Increased hospitals (medical facilities) who are staffed by licensed physicians help alleviate the health provision standards within that community.
Additionally, licensing more physicians will be able to serve in a professional capacity in the marginalized areas and among minority groups CITATION Ced11 \l 1033 (Dark, 2011). Physician productivity will also be greatly increased since they will be handling fewer patients. Patients are also likely to receive better medical services from more licensed physicians. The workload will be spread among more physicians and they will have a more personalized service delivery.
