Multimedia—such as visuals, videos, audio—are often used in an essay to highlight, clarify, or further explain an item in that essay.

Make sure you incorporate credible information sources (a minimum of 3; 1 of them a multimedia piece), and that they are cited in correct APA format (in-text citations and a corresponding References page).

Be sure your paper is in APA format (i.e., double-spaced, in 12-point Times New Roman font, with a running head and page numbering). The Reference page, as well as any in-text citations, must follow APA formatting requirements. Be sure to check your writing for the following writing elements: Grammar, punctuation, spelling, and proofreading.

Social media is described as a digital-based platform that helps in information sharing. The type of information shared includes videos, documents and pictures. There are various types of social media platforms. These include Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, WeChat, WhatsApp, LinkedIn, YouTube and TikTok. Today, over 3.6 billion people are social media users. Scholars have distinct views on social media and its overall impact on society. Some have argued its advantages, while others have offered criticism (Riddle, 2017). This essay will align with the positive elements of social media use. Indeed, social media has changed the world for the better.
Social media provides a new way to communicate and interact with people like never before it gives us a way to stay connected to the people we hold close to our hearts. Young adults, parents and teenagers are all beneficiaries of social media. The fact that social media has instrumentally improved communication processes showcases social media's high importance in society. With improved communication, the world has changed for the better since now people can easily communicate and stay connected without needing physical appearance. Business engagements are easier to conduct through various video conferencing social platforms like Zoom and connecting with family members living in different locations has been made easier by video calls and instant messaging. One quotation showing how social media has tremendously improved communication is from Lenhart (2015), who stated, "83% of social media users that were teens feel more connected to their friend’s life and that 70% feel more connected to their friends’ feelings." According to Lenhart (2015), social media users like teenagers have become increasingly fond of social media platforms. He asserted that teenagers being the highest population using social media, had been one of the greatest beneficiaries of social media connectivity ability (Lenhart, A. (2015). Indeed, teenagers use social media to engage with their friends, follow up on their lives through the pictures and videos they post and it is always a great way of connecting with their current feelings about their friends. One can easily tell when their friends are happy, sad, or lonely and if their lives are improving or worsening. Consequently, with the ease of communication, teenagers can always reach out n social platforms and check on each other's lives more frequently.
