My portfolio is specific to the patient liaison. I find this communication career crucial since it facilitates the creation of trusting relationships between healthcare providers and patients. Patient liaison enhances effective physician-patient communication, which promotes the quality of healthcare services. The artifacts depicted in my portfolio are vital in showcasing my strengths as a patient liaison.
The first artifact I created for my portfolio is the professional interview. One of the significant barriers to the provision of quality medical services is poor communication or interviewing skills (Zanetti et al., 2023). Being a professional interviewer is crucial to realizing my communication career dream since it will enable me to collect essential information that facilitates building a proper relationship with patients. For instance, I can evaluate the verbal and non-verbal cues to know whether the patient is satisfied with the services provided and react accordingly.
Another artifact that reveals my fitness as a patient liaison is Christian communication ethics. I believe that individuals’ religions should be respected since they shape people’s behaviors and determine their interactions and behaviors.
