Group Video Calling Experience with ooVoo
When it comes to group video calls, ooVoo is clearly ahead of the pack. The application supports free video and voice calls, as well as instant messaging. Some of the noticeable features include the HD quality of video calls and the ability to make multiple video calls; you would think you are teleconferencing. Although it supports 12-way group video chats, the 4-way display makes it feel like a real-time face-to-face conversation. In addition, you can send instant messages while still video calling.
Another plus for ooVoo is the user-friendly interface, which allows you to connect with friends on Twitter and Facebook. During our group’s video call experience, one only had to choose the friends he or she wishes to chat with and instantly hook them on ooVoo. We were also able to hook with friends by simply typing in their oVoo ID or email address. For friends on one’s address book, one only had to select their names, and they are given the option of either initiating a voice call, IM, or video call.
The simplicity of the interface allows users to navigate easily on different features. For instance, the Spring Board bar at the bottom allowed us to view contacts and the instant messaging application, which made it possible to send texts while on video calls. When one is not aware of an incoming video call, there is a push notification that alerts you that someone is trying to contact you.
All in all, I liked the experience of group video calls on ooVoo because it not only allows you to hear other chatters at the same time, but also offers the option to switch
