There are four distinguishing characteristics of groups. First, the number of individuals comprising the group should be small enough to ensure the effective participation of every member. Second, the people should interact with each other to achieve shared goals in a group. Third, groups entail people engaging in face-to-face interactions. The fourth feature of groups entails people having multiple meetings over a specified timescale to deliberate on a specific problem or subject matter (Hamilton et al., 2019). One positive experience working in a group involved leveraging the diversity of perspectives and insights from the team members. This emanated from the premise that three heads are better than two (Hamilton et al., 2019). Everyone in the group had diverse experiences, different viewpoints about the subject matter, and different expertise levels that allowed the group to investigate the problem from various dimensions, thus making decisions based on a wide range of information.
