LinkedIn is an online social platform just like Twitter, only that it is business-oriented. It is found on mobile applications and websites. LinkedIn profiles can be viewed to all LinkedIn users who are signed in. All the same, the visibility of various features of the profile can be limited only those who are intended. While logged in the LinkedIn app, it is likely to get invitations for connection; one should accept the invitations unless the people inviting are just mere spammers. LinkedIn is made to connect mostly professionals (Bastian et al., 2014). This is because the platform provides an avenue through which business and professionals can connect and relate.
LinkedIn users get several benefits from using this app or website. This platform provides with job opportunities to those who are seeking for jobs. As a user, one can apply for these jobs directly, and the applications are assured of reaching the intended destinations. This saves the applicants time and resources. Other users use this site as a research tool to research hiring managers, interviewers, and recruiters. This is helpful before submitting applications. LinkedIn helps users gain confidence in their skills and talents. Connections in LinkedIn can recommend and approve one when they see the skills and expertise they have on posts in the profile. One can build confidence from these approvals (Broillet et al., 2014).
