As per Zimmer’s article, the three pillars of rhetoric include pathos, logos, and ethos. Pathos refers to an appeal to the audiences’ emotions using tools such as visuals, call to action, and storytelling. Logos uses the logic of the argument through aspects such as statistics, facts, data, research results, and test results. Ethos refers to the appeal to the audience based on the speaker’s or author’s credibility. When the speaker is perceived to be credible, they will be able to persuade the audience easily.
