An organization refers to a social unit with specific goals to achieve. Communication is very important to organizations and has become the main concern for managers. Communication can occur through sending and receiving information orally, written or in electronic form. It is also classified as either verbal or non-verbal. Organizational communication can also occur through meetings, face-to-face talks, letters, memos, reports and emails. Other forms of organizational communication practices include newsletters, notice boards, presentations and performance appraisals. Communication in organizations is very crucial because it enhances collaboration and enhances teamwork (Neher, 1997).
