In the increasingly growing competitive corporate world, hiring is a major factor in gaining a competitive edge. Identifying, recruiting, training and retaining talents at a cost efficient level becomes a challenge to many employers. While the desire to acquire and retain top talent within organizations increase, the need to cut cost and has increased.
Owing to immense pressure subjected to the human resource function of the corporate organization, human resources have come up with ways of cutting cost while still attracting highly skilled individuals. One way to gain competitive advantage and a decrease cost in an organization is by employing a four step strategy of source and select, lead and manage, reward and incentivize and finally redeploy and retire(Burkholder,2006).
Using an outsourcing strategy the firm can acquire highly efficient recruits and a lesser administrative burdens. Through candidate sourcing, test and assessment administration that intensely screen prospects for behavioral and cognitive attributes (Heneman,1989). Also ensuring an internal referral program that assures of consistent mined experienced and high perfuming employees.
Leaning is fundamental aspect for talented and ambitious employees. Employing best practices and learning metrics help the organization achieve business objectives through an aligned learning methodology (Burkholder, 2006). A well-organized incentive and reward program will ensure employees work to full capacity. These can be outsourced to enable a single point of contact to the HR department.
Affiliation and workforce
Affiliation in the workforce enable the workers to have a sense of belonging and feel part of the organization. Instead of being treated as numbers and just hired workers, but to feel connected into the system and well appreciated (Elsdon, 2003). When workers feel the sense of calling their output increases and they contribute much at the end of it. Having affiliation thus is key in performance determination and retaining workforce. Affiliation help mitigate stress created by competitive nature of organization setting (Elsdon, 2003). . Having leaders communicate well and recognizes their stuff foster the need for affiliation thus maximizes rewards in terms of productivity and retain ability.
