Was shofar’s creator successful in achieving its purpose?
The shofar in Jewish community was created for religious purposes. Besides, the shofar was used to scare away demons so that forces of good would triumph to promote a good beginning of the year. Israelites believed that the power of the sound of shofar would destroy power of Satan which spoke against Israelites on various holy days (Christian broadcast. 2019). The creator of shofar successfully achieved its purpose in various ways.
During Judaism period, the shofar was used during life cycle events and holiday celebrations. Most of these days were special days for Jewish community and they celebrated to reinforce the connection with their cherished members of their community (Yad Vasheem. 2017). Besides, Jews risked their lives during performance of rituals in order to maintain their culture that was cherished so dearly.
