Value Chain and Process Improvement
In organizations, applying a value chain is essential for understanding different processes and activities that are taking place in the institution. These are activities that air in discussing the interconnections bringing value to the institution's customers. An organization that can quickly help in understanding these concepts is the manufacturing company. Using the company brings in knowledge on how the company produces products such as electronics for customers and details more about the value chain in organizations.
Steps in the high-value chain
The following steps are required in a high-value chain to fulfill the customer's requirements in the organization right from the beginning to the end. The first step is to conduct market research and product development. In this step, the organization can identify the customer needs, research how the electronic products will be received, and identify the need to develop new products for the customers and the market. It helps the manufacturing company be on track regarding the items they are releasing to consumers.
The second step is procurement, whereby the manufacturing company will have to source raw materials for the electronics. Sourcing for raw materials must be perfect to avoid manufacturing products with defects.
The third step is manufacturing, where the company assembles the electronic components from the raw materials. In manufacturing, the components must effectively function to ensure no defects and customer needs or requirements are considered.
After manufacturing, sale and marketing happens. In sells and marketing, the company creates awareness and promotes the manufactured products (Memon et al., 2020). The company uses various channels to sell the product to ensure it reaches the targeted market.
Distribution is the next stage. Customers will be aware of the electronic products from the sales and marketing processes done by the company. These customers will order the product because they feel it gives them value and meets their needs. The company will then sell and distribute it to the customers through available channels.
Customer service is the last step, and it happens when the manufacturing company provides customer support and seeks feedback. If there are issues or inquiries, the company addresses these issues after the sale.
Operational Sub-processes
The operational sub-processes include market research and product development. Sub-processes involve idea establishments; there has to be practical market analysis, prototype development, and testing to ensure that what will be released to the market meets the needs of consumers. The company manufactures electronics for consumers and has to start with an idea they conceptualize (Memon et al., 2020). The product will only be released with testing because it can have defects. Through testing tasks, defects or any issues are identified and addressed before the final product reaches the intended market.
Other operational sub-processes involve pro...
