The hospitality industry is a large business that is made up of restaurants, hotels, resorts, as well as travel companies and transportation. Over the years, the industry has grown, and that has forced them to focus on establishing many and latest advanced facilities to their customers. As much these facilities have significant roles to play in a hospitality company, they come up with a cost and need to manage to bring the best out of them. The hospitality facilities major role to offer an appealing and aesthetic visual environment that creates an ambulance experience and comfort. The cost refers to the expenses incurred in the acquisition, fitting and maintenance of the hotel facilities, lastly, in this context management relates to the ability of the management to control, organize and plan the operations of the hotel facilities. Therefore, this parts focuses on the role, cost, and management of hospitality facilities and how its benefits are related to my hospitality career.
Roles of Hospitality Facilities
When facilities are fitted in a hotel, the process is done at the interest and desire of guests, which is to provide comfort, safety as well as the ambiance of the hotel. The primary aim is to offer excellent accommodation by the aid of these facilities as clients always want to enjoy a better experience than home (Burns-Smith, Choy, Chong, & Verma, 2016). One of the roles if hospital facilities are to create an appealing visual environment for the hotel. In other words, the facilities become an attraction of itself by incorporating features that entertain the guest. For example, many restaurants and hotels have pushed to appeals its visuals as well as entertaining the clients by installing facilities such as hot springs, golf course, tennis course and field athletics course (Burns-Smith, Choy, Chong, & Verma, 2016). This features not only provides the aesthetic value to the hotel but also provides entertainment to the clients.
Another role of facilities in the hospital is to provide comfortable and thermal environments for the clients. The aspect of comfort and worth and comfortably is targeted within the guest house, where facilities such air conditioners, spacious rooms, cleans beddings, functioning laundry plan, good foods and excellent bathrooms are fitted with latest and sophisticated technologies (Burns-Smith, Choy, Chong, & Verma, 2016). This is constantly met and reviewed by checking on clients' reviews and complaints and match their recommendations. In relations to comfort, the facilities are always fitted to take control of noise, maintains sparkling cleanliness as well as diverse, entertaining facilities such piano, television and internet access (Burns-Smith, Choy, Chong, & Verma, 2016). Another role of that the some of the facilities is used in the provision of safety and protection of other security-related elements. For instance, on the matter of security, facilities such as security alarms, fire alarm, fire extinguishers, bugler proofing doors, and windows are always installed to protect the clients' safety. Also, this could be boosted with manual security checks using guards to make the vulnerable guests like a politician to feel secured.

For a hotel to set up a fully running facility, it has to come up with a cost of installing and operations. The cost of setting up a hospital facility includes the cost of design, construction and development cost. The constructions tend to vary relatively depending on a type or nature, complexity and the degree of luxury of the facility. Knowing the fact that setting up facilities is associated with a cost, the facilities must be operated and maintained to provide a return on investment (Burns-Smith, Choy, Chong, & Verma, 2016). The reason is to ensure that facility operation is profit potential and has a real estate appreciation as well. In particular, the cost includes purchasing of land, building, and improvement of sites, pre-opening and working capital, acquiring furniture and equipment.
Furthermore, the total construction breakdown estimated on an ideal hotel construction design and development include: 60%-65% incurred in constructions, 15%-18% used for acquisition of furniture and assets, 10%-12% on the development, 8% on financing, 3% incurred on pre-opening and a 1% for incurred as the working capital (Burns-Smith, Choy, Chong, & Verma, 2016). This is usually conducted through proper design, project control and budget control to a predictable cost of maintenance, operation, and renovation (Burns-Smith, Choy, Chong, & Verma, 2016).
The cost of operations occurs when the constructions process is going on. This is captured in the principles of property operation and maintenance (POM) and utilities. POM reflects the cost incurred on the initial constructions cost as there is an increase in the maintenance cost whenever the there is also an increase in the construction expenditure. Specifically, maintenance cost includes labor and supplies and contracts costs. Also, to have a complete facility, costs on utilities such as electricity, fuel, steam water. According to the general estimation, the cost of POM and utilities captures between 9.5 % and 11.1% for the constrictions of guest properties (Burns-Smith, Choy, Chong, & Verma, 2016).
Management of Hospitality Facilities
Understanding the management responsibilities on the hotel facility is an essential topic to any scholar of hospitality management. The management has a duty to ensure the hotel offer safety and security, an effective legal and regulatory issues, service management, and cost control. The management process is usually divided distinctly into specific departments to allow proper focus on specific responsibilities (Burns-Smith, Choy, Chong, & Verma, 2016). The management has placed much concern on security and safety as it an aspect that many clients consider before booking a hotel. This is because of the rise in terrorist attacks and political upheaval in the recent days. Legal and regulatory is simply a tool that provides a stable framework that guides on matters concerning health and environmental, government authorization and building codes. Regarding service provision, the management sets a quality control departments that ensures clients are served with quality products (Burns-Smith, Choy, Chong, & Verma, 2016). Concerning the cost of control, the management chooses to underwrite its assets within insurance companies and running a budgetary control and financial advising to develop feasible and profitable projects.

From example, understanding the benefits brought about by the hospitality industry is essential for both theoretical and practical level in the career applications. A good manager or an expert in the hospitality industry should be aware that facilities have a role in creating an appealing visual environment, safety and providing quality and sufficient supplies to the clients. The aspect of cost also vital as it boost the understanding of the business profitability, budgetary control and planning for efficient running of a hotel. Lastly, the topic highlights the role of facility management, which is important to understand the appropriate ways of planning, controlling and organizing facilities and rooms.
