1.0 Introduction
The product selected is the juices and cold drink from the company Coca-Cola. The company is one of the biggest and largest retailers, marketers and manufacturers of the non-alcoholic beverage around the globe. The company is offering more than 400 brands in more than 200 countries. 1.6 billion Servings were done daily. In addition to this, the products of the company include Fanta, Sprite, and Powerade. The main mission of the company is to refresh the world while giving the clients an inspiration which allows them to create the differences in their lives (Hafezalkotob and Ghezavati, 2015). The company integrates to create the flashes of inspiration which results in motivation among the consumers.
The company provides people with a fantastic experience of working that may present the world with top product portfolio, enhance the network of the partners which are effective, maximize the returns to shareholders and implement sustainable projects. The company maintains the record of winning as compared to its competitors. This research provides an understanding of the process involved in the supply chain of coca-cola. The research investigates different steps involved in the development of the methods which are linked with the development of drinks and juices (Hafezalkotob and Ghezavati, 2015). The importance of this analysis is to help identify the role of the holistic supply chain that may increase the knowledge to improve the functionality of a supply chain.
2.0 Operation and Supply Chain Management
The methodology which was employed with regard to the company’s operation and supply chain is the theory of the game. The application of this theory allocates the logic towards the strategies that are employed in the management of a system that may help to identify the weakness that is linked with the section of the system. The theory allocates the conflicts that may cause the issues of the final system (Hasan, 2013). Apart from this incentive theory was implemented that may identify the reason behind the selection of strategies in order to implement the system of supply chain management.
2.1 Operation and Supply Chain Process
Supply Chain process and operations could be categorized from the view of the consumer or producer products or services such as returning, delivery, planning and sourcing.
2.1.1 Planning. The flow of logistics of the supply chain allows the company to adapt the services to the customer’s needs. It’s all the supply planning and demand in the operations planning of sales (Tolonen et al, 2017). Planning supply is determined by the customer demand which is forecasted by the changes and promotion in merchandising in-store.
2.1.2 Sourcing. Coca Cola keeps much of the sourcing local and it may help to keep the supply chain fast and short as it is important to keep up with the demand. They have minimized the environmental control and consider sustainability in the value chain from sourcing the raw materials.
2.1.3 Making delivery. The Company plans to accomplish the use of some measures across the operations which includes packaging, delivery and material souring (Tolonen et al, 2017). The manufacturer has reported progress in emission reduction with the use of delivery trucks that may run the fuels alternatively such as biodiesel and natural gas.
2.1.4 Returning. The Company received the defective and excess products from the customers who have issues with the products which are delivered to them (Meredith & Shafer, 2019). In some of the cases, this may include the activities of follow up which is required for the support of after-sales.
2.2 Current Issues
Supply Chain management and operation is the field which is dynamic and the issues arise in the global enterprise which shows exciting new challenges from the operation manager. There are some issues which are highlighted with respect to the company (Cole, Stevenson and Aitken, 2019).
2.2.1 Coordinating relationships. The Company sets up the guidelines to do the business in the terms of the operative procedure, Relationship management of customer, query management and the bottlers have the degree of freedom in order to develop the SOP which is related to fleet management and delivery.
2.2.2 Optimization. Red Classic has created the regional solution of transportation in order to optimize the consolidated network of distribution of the company that follows the multi-year expansion effort (Cole, Stevenson and Aitken, 2019). There was a five-year transformation effort which includes the new territory of sales and the integration of new facilities of production.
2.2.3 Customer touchpoints. The Company strive to cut the cost and they often scrimp the support of customer which requires the service department of staff, helplines and the counters of checkout. This may also lead to the frustration that has experienced by the company. The issue is to recognize that makes resource utilization decision which captures the cost of the customers who are lost and direct cost of staffing.
2.2.4 Senior management awareness. A senior executive of the company entered the company through strategy and finance that may build the reputation in some areas that may result in the process of supply chain and operation (Cole, Stevenson and Aitken, 2019). The company have used Operation supply chain management for a competitive advantage.
2.3 Strategy and Sustainability
The strategy would be explained how the company intends to sustain and create value for the shareholders. By adding the concept of sustainability requirement was added to meet the needs without compromising the ability of the future generation to meet the needs.
2.3.1 Competitive dimension link with the supply chain. Different customers are motivated by unique and different attributes. Some of the customers of the company were interested in the cost of the service and product and they attempt to position themselves that may offer a low price (Liao, 2018). The company includes price and cost to make the product and quality to make a great product.
2.3.2 Trade-off consideration link with supply chain risk. There are central tradeoffs of sustainability and the company needs to clean the environment but the consumers want the affordable products and many people make their lives as part of the global supply chain that brings in consumer products to the people to improve the sustainability.
2.4 Forecasting
