Supply Chain Management The case in the study for the Supply Chain Management in this scenario is the Dell Computers company which is an example of a company that applied the use of SCM in the development platform implemented in the company. Dell is $57 billion industry that deals with the customization and the manufacture of computers especially PCs. The customers could have their PCs customized with the specific configurations of their choice, and Dell is one such company that can do these customizations according to the requirements of millions of customers in record time (Sullivan, 2003). 
Dell is one of the earliest companies to initiate the CTO model, and this model has worked well for the company so far because of the application of direct sales approach where Dell builds new products according to the requirements of the clients. Through this, Dell has introduced advanced technologies and new products before their competitors configure the application of the new developments in technology. The SCM has assisted Dell by forecasting client demands as well as in the availing of cheaper computers and other products to clients.
