The Leadership Council of the Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) has identified the reduction of anthropogenic climate change and ensuring sustainable energy as one of the sustainable development goals (SDGs). SDSN is a distinguished group comprising of the civil society, scientific, policy, and business leaders around the world. The group advises the UN General Assembly and the UN secretary-general on new SDGs. In addressing the problem of climate change, the network aims to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions particularly from the energy industry, the built environment, agriculture, and changes in land use (Kung & McCarl, 2018). The overall goal is to forestall the rapidly increasing dangers of climate change and foster sustainable energy by halving the emissions of GHGs by 2050.
