Currently, many U.S. communities are applying for community health center grants and calling for continued funding for community health centers from the government. This trend is a reflection of the awareness U.S. communities has received concerning the need for a healthy society. Apart from this, communities living in the rural areas cannot access healthcare facilities in the urban centers; thus, the emphasis on creating community health centers. Similarly, when in the rural areas, community health centers provide affordable healthcare services to the American people (NACHC, n.d.). Moreover, community health centers have proven effective in improving the health of the patients; generate opportunities such as jobs, and training for the local people.
The center in Wyoming is the typical experience of a community health center, which will realize these benefits. The grants cater help in meeting the financial constraints faced by the local people when it comes to paying for healthcare services. In addition, the center is projected to have the capability of offering 20-40 jobs to the local people (Mast, 2015). Because of these advantages, communities are not only applying for grants, but also seeking continued funding of the centers, so that the centers can remain sustainable and able to provide the healthcare services to the people.
Although the job of managing a community health care center is challenging, I would accept the job. Working in a rural area is an experience, which many people would desire, especially because of the unique nature of such areas. Another thing, I like being of help to other people.
