The motor vehicle industry has witnessed significant growth and transformation since the first car was invented over 100 years ago. Over the years, the industry has also been deemed as being very lucrative because of high demand for means of transport. As such, several companies have come up to meet the motor vehicle needs, tastes and preferences of different consumers in society including General Motors. It is noted that General Motors was founded in 1908 by William C Durant and since then it has grown to tremendous heights. The American multinational corporation based in Detroit is primarily involved in the manufacture and distribution of not only vehicles but also vehicle parts. General Motors has managed to forge through various challenges through the years and currently holds the title of the largest automobile manufacturer in the US (General Motors, 2020). It has also established a global outlook and manufacturers markets its vehicles in over 396 facilities spread across different continents.
