Deliberate leadership development initiatives can be integral in promoting the desired culture in an organization and improving its overall performance. One leadership development initiative from Campbell Soup Company is the provision of resources and a framework that allows new managers to learn from executives of the company. The executives of the company have immense knowledge and experience that can be valuable to new managers. For example, the Vice President has elucidated how they have expanded the business, increased revenues, and reduced costs. By sharing such experiences, new managers can learn how to navigate the challenges they encounter. The Pay It Forward belief system is also an initiative that can support the development of new managers in the US branch of the company. The active involvement of senior leaders of the company in course instruction can be integral in promoting employee involvement. Given the value of employee engagement in boosting productivity and company performance, it is imperative for senior leaders to lead the way when it comes to engagement. By promoting senior leaders' participation in course instruction, important knowledge regarding the company's operations and industry insights can be passed down to new managers.
The leadership development initiatives promote employee engagement because they build confidence in employees, motivating them to be more engaged (Siddiqui & Sahar., 2019). With knowledge and skills gained from senior leaders of the organization, the employees will be more confident to be involved in the company's operations.
