According to the course readings, I learned that the number of cooperatives in the Agricultural sector in the United States continues to decline significantly. Despite being crucial in voicing grievances and controlling market prices for farmers, the decline is immense. My father practices large-scale rice farming. However, he has recorded relatively low returns from the yields in the past two decades due to volatile market prices. He complains that most farmers' cooperatives enterprises have gone out of business. One might ask why such firms fail.
