Extensive evidence has revealed that the current power usage by companies is not sustainable. As Hawken observes, there is a need to reduce the consumption of energy and natural resources in the North by 80% within the next half-century. The ongoing degradation of natural resources has been associated with adverse negative outcomes, especially to the environment. Further, the use of natural resources for energy, for instance, fossil fuels, cannot be sustained. Therefore, businesses must focus on shifting their energy use to clean forms of energy. Evidence suggests that the best kind of energy to use is the renewable type. Businesses must also strive to ensure that natural resources are preserved.

Most countries around the world are capitalistic. In this form of the economic system, the means for the factors of production are owned by a few individuals. These individuals employ skilled people to work in their industries. The end result is a situation where most people in the general population are unemployed and without some stable income. Hence, the focus must be shifted to ensure that there is secure, stable, and meaningful employment for people everywhere. Such a situation would ensure stability in the economy and eliminate most of the societal ills caused by unemployment. Therefore, there is no doubt that secure, stable, and meaningful employment are crucial to achieving solutions.

Psychological experts argue that human beings are the only social beings that have been endowed with the ability to think. When individuals become self-actuating, it means that they no longer need to be regulated to do what is right. It becomes natural to do what is right. In a world where people are self-actuating as opposed to being regulated/ morally mandated, solutions are likely to be achieved promptly. Further, such a situation is likely to lead to an increase in productivity. There must come a time when people feel natural to do what is good rather than feel pushed to do the same. It is only then that effective solutions can be achieved.
