The increase in the human population has put enormous pressure on the Earth, resulting in the need to increase exploitation to support the human species. The United States while making up 5% of the total population of the earth consumes 30% of its resources CITATION UNE11 \l 1033 (UNEP, 2011). There is, thus, an immediate need to stem this process and put in place measures to mitigate and support environmental preservation. The paper, therefore, looks at three important environmental aspects and how current behavior affects them and possibly what can be done to change these behaviors. Discussion The paper identified the following aspects as important for preservation namely; the atmosphere, water sources, and land. The atmosphere is critical as it supplies humans with oxygen which is critical for survival. Businesses also utilize the atmosphere for travel, as a source of gasses e.g. nitrogen, etc. Water is also essential for the survival of the human race. It also supports life as well as providing food for different species. Land is essential for growing crops as well as providing raw materials for business.
