Cultural awareness is one of the aspects that most of the people in the society think that they have mastered, but this is usually further from the truth than most people realize. Cultural awareness is a crucial skill especially in the current society. Globalization plays a major role in the society, more so economy and social relations. Nowadays there are more than race living in any one area or even at the work place. Having cultural awareness skills is thus crucial to make sure that one interacts with the different cultures home and abroad for ultimate productivity and reduce conflict stemming from misinterpretation while communicating (Culturaldiversity.com.au, 2015).
The Kwintessential , website is a well-organized website that offers a chance to test ones cultural awareness skills. Using the website I had a chance to assess my awareness on cross cultural skills. On the website I took the Cross Cultural Quiz 1 (Kwintessential.co.uk, 2015). The quiz comprises of seven questions that are crafted in very intriguing manner as they are situational based.
Surprisingly I did not manage a decent score, this is especially considering that out of the seven questions offered in the test I only managed to correctly answer two. During the test I noticed that I took time to answer the question relative to the fact that I was not well informed on the issues and ended up guessing the answers.As a result I scored poorly and ran out of time during the test(Kwintessential.co.uk, 2015).
Although I scored lowly in the test I believe I still have a chance to making sure that I have the right skills. From previous interactions with different cultures I have developed respect for various cultures. This comes out as one of my major strengths in cross cultural awareness. I have...
