SLP Assignment
Small Business MPR Communication
For this project, select a small business. It can be a store from your hometown, a favorite family-owned restaurant, or an online business. You may even use a small club, charity, group, or house of worship for the assignment. While large corporations use MPR, it can be successful in a local market because a few extra sales or one or two new customers can make a large difference for a small business.
An MPR communication combines a press release with blog writing. You want to make something about your chosen business interesting and newsworthy. It could be a story about the owners, the company helping the community, an event, or an innovative product or service it offers.

The business sells healthy meals, snacks, and drinks that are designed for people with different health conditions, and offers nutrition education to its customers as a complementary service. It is located in Los Angeles, California.
About ‘Healthy Bites’
‘Healthy Bites’ has made a massive revolution on the common notion about healthy eating that residents from Los Angeles, California have kept for many years. A few years back, there were a series of press releases that addressed the endangering poor nutrition situation in Los Angeles. During that time, there were twice as many fast-food restaurants and joints as fresh produce grocery stores (Medina, 2011). Residents lived on fried foods and carbonated beverages. They disliked whole foods such as tubers and whole flour, which made them significantly cheap.
Later, health professionals in major hospitals in California realized the increasing burden of diabetes, hypertension, and cancer in both young and older adults. They attributed the menace to poor eating and a sedentary lifestyle (Sturm & Hattori, 2015). Health promotion campaigns began and 'Healthy Bites' was born.
