Hilton Worldwide Holdings Inc.
Being a hospitality enthusiast, I would like to work for the Hilton Group of Hotels owned by Hilton Worldwide Holdings Inc after graduation. Hilton was founded in 1919 by Conrad Hilton. Its headquarters is based in America but runs franchises all over the world. It is led by Christopher J. Nassetta, the president of the Hilton Hotel Worldwide. I would like to join the company in a managerial capacity as I feel I have what it takes to be in the industry.
Trends and Insights of Hospitality Industry.
The hospitality industry tends to be a fickle industry, that can be affected by any calamity leading to losses. Recently, COVID-19 played a significant challenge, which saw the industry toil to its knees. Consequently, the hospitality industry has received a tremendous change in recent years. This is a result of consumer preferences and the rise in technological use. Different trends have emerged, after COVID-19, which promoted the adoption of a new style of traveling and marketing.
First, individuals embraced technology by booking online, without the need for travel agents or tour operators. The use of social media especially created a space where consumers can admire, visit and review places they stay. This means that hospitality companies had to ace their game to win consumers' hearts. Also, the use of influencers to market a destination or hotel has proven to be successful. According to Ashley and Tuten ( 2015), a consumer is more compelled to buy a product when individuals they follow or celebrities endorse the particular product. This means a guest who begins their travel online ends it online by giving a review of their trip.
Secondly, personalization and custom-made experiences are other trends in the hospitality industry. Notably, customers expect to have personalized experiences depending on their needs. For instance, if a customer is celebrating a birthday, they expect the hotel to make a plan and make the day successful and memorable. Third, the rise in wellness and health travel has prompted travel for the hospitality industry. Finally, the rise in environmental consciousness and sustainability has been a trend in the hospitality industry.
