History of the Brand
Guccio Gucci established the Italian company Gucci in 1921. The company's humble beginnings in Florence, Italy as a maker of leather goods and luggage ultimately led to adding apparel, accessories, and fragrances (Kasztalska, 2018). The double-G emblem and recognizable green and red lines make Gucci famous. Over the years, the brand has seen numerous transformations and had several creative directors.
Current Designer
Sabato de Sarno is the current creative director of Gucci. Since January 28th, 2023, Sabato has been a part of the company. Gucci has gained notoriety under his direction for its maximalist approach, fusing solid prints and patterns with old-fashioned forms.
