Amazon.com is considerably the largest internet-based retailers operating in the United States. It had been founded by Jeff Bezos in 1994. Amazon.com significantly maintain three diverse operating parts where it sells approximately 300 million products with an extensive range (Torelli, 2017). The company in its retail operation comprises of several business models such as Amazon Retail, Web Services, and Marketplace. Moreover, it has been perceived that the mentioned case study results in a great debate, constructive conversation, and comparative analysis based on company's strategies across three key marketplaces that are emerging. The case initiates with Amazon's entry in India where it mentions the opportunities and challenges observed in India's market. Later, the case looks into the experiences in China and Brazil. China is huge when it comes to the geographical area, therefore the choices and preferences of people there vary from area to area, along with the decision of purchasing and demand of product by people are very different. This means that it is very hard to analyze the choice patterns or the Chinese market (Sako, 2015). More research workers and marketing team is required to analyze the demand of the consumers in the country. China has very strict laws and regulations when it comes to foreign company's operations. In China, it is a law that any multinational should be operated in a Chinese-owned corporation. This means that the strategies of the business will be as per the local will of the Chinese-owned Corporation. China has one of the biggest competitive threat for Amazon, as Alibaba, Eachnet, and Joyo.com operate there and are running with great success. So it is very difficult to attract the customers that are satisfied and are already engaged in the e-shopping activity with the local companies.
