Harvey's Abilene Paradox and Janis's Groupthink concepts share the same ideology because they relate to defective decision-making; However, several researchers emphasize that these two concepts may be different. Janis group thinks mirrors that of Abilene's story whereby confusion emerges because the two concepts have not differentiated their difference. According to Harvey, organizations often take action that contradicts its main mission, this defeat its objectives they are trying to achieve as an organization (Kim, 2001).
