USGS’s mission is to serve the citizens by offering constant scientific information about the earth, preserving property and lives from natural calamities, and augmenting life quality (Survey Manual, 2021). The NPS conserves unimpaired the National Park System’s cultural and natural values and resources to promote inspiration, education, and enjoyment of current and future generations (National Park Service, 2017). The director leads NPS’s organizational structure, followed by senior executives managing national programs, budgets, and policy at its headquarters in Washington, DC. This also includes several regional directors tasked with managing the national parks and implementing programs (National Park Service, n.d.). USGS’s organizational structure consists of the director and chief of staff at the top level. Next two these two posts are two deputy directors, one heading operations and another for administration and policy. Below these senior executives are regional directors. Other vital positions USGS organizational structure include associate directors and directors heading different departments, such as international programs and communications (Office of the Director, 2022).
