Hey Jude Reflection and Analysis
"Hey Jude" by The Beatles is a masterful example of how song structure can evoke specific emotions. The song's structure and distinct musical elements take listeners on a powerful emotional journey. The verses build up the song's emotional tension by telling a personal and relatable story. The repetition of the verse melody creates a sense of familiarity and connection that makes the song more emotionally resonant.
The song's chorus is the emotional release from the build-up of the verses. The repetition of the phrase "Hey Jude" creates a communal feeling and a sense of support for the song's protagonist, as if the entire world is singing along and cheering him on. The emotional power of the chorus is amplified by the repetition of the melody and the communal singing, which creates a sense of unity and belonging.
