Plot of the story The film Diary of Anne Frank begins with Anne making an entry into her October 1 diary. She describes the ringing of the doorbell as terrifying making her think it was the Gestapo. But it was not. On the contrary, an older Jewish chemist who is one of the employees knows the building better and they are frightened by the thought that he might take a notion to look at the building. The news that Anne has heard from outside is also frightening to her. The information she has is that Frank's Jewish friends are being taken away by a large number of people. They are also aware of the news of the German concentration camps. Anne huffs that the Germans are nice people. To prevent herself from these troubles, Anne keeps focused on her studies of French and math and keeps records of the happenings that take place in the two families. She is not pleased with Mrs. Van Daan for flirting with Mr. Frank, and not pleased about her connection with her mother. Meanwhile she discovers that there are many changes that are taking place within herself-she now gets her periods and has ecstasies at the sight of a female nude. She longs for friends, especially Peter Wessel by telling her diary the history of 'myself and all my boy friends'. One day peter shows her a cat and displays the organs to her so that she does not feel embarrassed to talk about them. There is still boredom in the annex and she complains that she has to listen to the same stories continuously from the residents. They only regurgitate the stories that their Dutch helpers narrate to them. Her sister is easier to convince and she goes to Amsterdam to the Gestapo. This makes Franks to go into hiding.
