A Creation Story about a Gendered and Racialized World
A few months ago, I met with Linnet Lopez and Jasmine Barbie. One is an American while the other one is a black American. The two ladies are in their thirties, and they work at a Senior Finance Journalist Business Insider Company. One day on a Monday morning, I met with Linnet and said to me that she has been paying a fifteen-minute tax to her company since she is from a different race. In the last few years, Linnet has worked in different companies and stated that she had different experiences from each. In 2018, she worked in a private company as the senior supervisor. According to her statements, the pay in the company was pleasing. However, she had to quit her job after three months. This because she could not stand the humiliation she was receiving from her male colleagues. Linnet stated that most of the male employees ignored her orders and their duties. Moreover, Linnet being from a different race, created an ethnocentric mind in most of the workers in the company. Most of the workers in the firm were Americans, and they believed that their ideas were the best—this demotivated Linnet leading to her resignation.
One evening, Jasmine came to my house for a visit. After dinner, she started narrating about her career journey in China. In her twenties, Jasmine worked abroad. In 2015, she had secured a job in a private company in china as one of the junior line managers. Her career journey was not comfortable in this country since most of the employees were Chinese. One day, she becomes pregnant; thus, she had to go for maternity leave. The company gladly offered her the maternity leave. A few months later, after the completion of her maternity leave, she decided to go back to work. Unfortunately, when she reported to the company, she had already been replaced by a Chinese worker. The company stated that they do not allow Moms to work in the company.
A few months later, she decided to go back to her country. She looked for a job and secured a position in the Senior Finance Journalist Business Insider Company. In the company, she met Linnet, who was black American. The two ladies almost had the same qualifications, personalities, and career ambitions. But the organization treated them differently. Linnet being a black American she was assigned demanding roles, low salary with no fringe benefits. On the other hand, Jasmine was immediately promoted to a senior position after working for three months, paid a high wage, and enjoyed the fringe benefits the company offered her. Additionally, Linnet was forced to pay a fifteen-minute to her boss each month. On the contrary, Jasmine's salary was never reduced. This story clearly shows the racial and gendered world that we are living in today.

Racial and Gender Discrimination Around the World
Over the last 15 years, many scholars have recognized the issue of racial and gender discrimination globally (King, 4). People around the world are facing many injustices through racial discrimination. For example, the victims are facing limited employment opportunities, endemic poverty, and segregation. On the other hand, women are facing many disadvantages due to their gender. For instance, women receive lower pay in their places of work as compared to men. Moreover, most women experience high illiteracy rates and poor access to better health care. Racism and genderism are the main factors leading to inequality around the world (King, 6).
In Eastern Europe, women from Roma are exposed to constant hostility due to their gender, ethnicity, and national origin. Similarly, women living in other parts of the world, such as Australia, England, and India, are subjected to discrimination due to their gender and race (King, 3). The status of women globally shows that women struggle much before achieving equality with men. According to a recent report that was released by the nations development fund for women, showed that the rate of women literacy across th...
